Dr. Galinat brought his practice to Wilmington after completing a fellowship in surgery of the shoulder and sports medicine at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Dr. Galinat is Board Certified, fellowship-trained and specializes in Surgery of the Shoulder.

 

Dr. Galinat received his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Virginia and completed his internship in general surgery at The Lankenau Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He then performed his orthopaedic surgical residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Galinat writes and edits articles and book chapters for medical journals and texts. He is the Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Christiana Care Health System. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at Thomas Jefferson University and is an orthopaedic consultant to the US Soccer Federation.

 

Dr. Galinat is an active member of numerous specialty organizations, including the American Medical Association, the Delaware Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He served as the Delaware Board of Counselor Representative of the AAOS from 2005-2011. He serves on the AAOS Coding Coverage and Reimbursement Committee. In 2011, he was elected to the American Orthopaedic Association and he serves on the Own The Bone committee.
